• Everyone has a creative gene. It is just getting to know what it is and exploring from within. Once the journey begins, the creativity is endless.
• Biography:
• Mary Dunn was born in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania in 1952. Mary grew up in Pittsburgh and from as far back as she can remember, she was drawing and oil painting. Her love for art never ceases and through the years, it has become a way of expression. Mostly self taught, Mary Dunn has worked primarily in oils; however, recently she has been working in pastels and watercolors. While in college, Mary minored in art and there she honed her skills. After college, she could not devote time to her art work, but now that her children have grown, there is more time to create. Mary works full time as a project manager but her evenings are spent either at the canvas or reading about various artist techniques. “It is a wonderful feeling to be creative in a way that people enjoy and appreciate. When my work is displayed, whether it be a pet portrait, a landscape, or a floral, the satisfaction of being the creator of an image brings such joy to my life.” As an emerging artist Mary’s exhibitions include The Jewish Community Center and the Iris and Ivory Tea Room. She is also a member of the Pittsburgh Pastel Artists League and South Arts. Mary resides in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania with her family.
