  • Artist Name:
  • Viviane Vives
  • Statement:
  • I'm six, belly down on a fake floor, carelessly drawing, a bulky, noisy 35 mm camera hovers over my head; it’s a TV ad for a floor-cleaning product; I get to be as messy as I want! I'm a performer and a director of performers, I think that shows in my work. I look into my subject's experience of life and their experience of this moment. By creating an experienced moment I try to capture it in a way that symbolizes an “affair” with the NOW. I try to do that as casually as possible, I’m involved with my subjects and they with me.
