  • Statement:
  • A canvas presents a stage for me to examine the visually driven attributes of light, perspective, color, form, and movement. Past experiences, present environment, imagination, and experimentation with mixed media allow me to echo my passions, peace, or pleasure. Creations from impressions encountered in urban, rural, or figurative life evolve abstractly. Harkrader

Edge Gallery in Philadelphia sold 6 painting in 2009. His solo exhibition at Virginia Tech University in 2005 was very successful and culminated in university purchases of three Harkrader paintings for their permanent collection. He has had solo exhibitions at the Staunton Fine Art Center, the Bluefield Fine Art Center, and the New River Valley Fine Art Center. He has been in group exhibitions in other Eastern U.S. museums and galleries including O.
