- I like to work on these three disciplines and get more challenging tasks, coming from myself or by any commercial request, giving me the ability to try and experiment on my own lab that is my visual memory, experience and environment that surrounds me.
My personal work (painting / drawing / mixed media) doesn't aim to raise any public/viewers questions or problematics on figurations, words, phrases and signs interpretations; yet it searches for answers on people's reactions. Thus, this gives me total freedom to explore any visual sign, new techniques and combinations, gestures and words without even worrying on what's the final result- leaving behind the importance and method of projecting/thinking any personal piece to add more emphasis on what my intuition and first-gestures lead into a final piece. It's an on-going, progressive and self-recognition process that i need to express, communicate and discover.
- Biography:
- Carlos Quitério (b. 1980) in Nazaré, Portugal, is a fine-artist and illustrator who started working before even starting h his artistic education in 1996 to support his studies. . Managing to find clients in graphic design and illustration , he was soon found by NY Times and Flaunt Magazine to collaborate in illustration projects only at 23 y old and since then he has freelanced and participated in several projects, gigs and exhibits, both for brands, editorials, institutions, privates and group collaborations with his illustrations, digital graphics and cross-media work.
