New York Art Exchange #1
Catherine McCormack-Skiba, CEO and founder of myartspace & NYAXE, speaks with press at the New York Art Exchange press reception in Miami. NYAXE is designed to be an ecommerce solution for members of the myartspace community. www.myartspace.com is a social network for artists, gallerists, and art collectors. Members of the myartspace community can create a New York Art Exchange store by clicking on ‘Manage Store’ on their Account Page within the Personal Info category. There are several store options to choose from.
A basic storefront is free for the first five listings, and each level provides more advanced features and marketing capabilities and cost effective pricing structures. The various tiers of service are designed to enable artists and gallerists to try their hand at ecommerce to build a basic online store at a low cost. Artists and gallerists subsequently can upgrade to higher tiers if they wish to expand their offerings.
NYAXE is based on an escrow model for selling original work. The program is designed to protect both the buyer and seller. The money is put safely aside when the artist sells and is held by NYAXE until both parties are satisfied. The way it works is pretty straight forward. The buyer purchases a painting and pays for the item and the shipping. Our escrow system dispenses the shipping money to the artist and the artist then safely ships the work to the buyer. Once the buyer receives it, he or she acknowledges it and the rest of the money due is released. NYAXE claims a small commission based on which store option the artist is using.
Below are some examples of the caliber of art you will discover on NYAXE. A new selection of stores will be posted weekly on the New York Art Exchange Blog as well as the Myartspace Blog.
