- Artist Name:
- Terri Pulley
- Statement:
- Painting with light is how Mosaic Artists describe their work. The mesmerizing glow of glass reflected back to the viewer is one oil or acrylic paint can ever hope to achieve but never reproduce.
Mosaics are an ancient art and as such were often overlooked in modern art circles. Over the past twenty years there has been a world wide resurgence in this most enduring of all art forms. One only has to view mosaic art works of ancient Africa, Italy, France, Russia and South America that still survive after thousands of years. Modern mosaics are often abstract, expressionistic, whimsical and architectural.
Stained glass, Italian and Mexican smalti, are the "light" that I use to create Mosaic Art.
